Captain Joe Lyons
An avid fisherman since he was a kid, Captain Joe Lyons has spent
virtually every summer of his life “down the shore” fishing.
Over the course of the last 30 odd years (some odder than others),
he has fished for everything you can catch off the coast of New Jersey
from fluke and sea bass to tuna and shark. His background and interests
in local fishing spots, the patterns of what’s biting and where
the best fishing can be found have been developed over the course
of many years. Whether it is night fishing in the Delaware Bay or
taking part in the season’s biggest tournaments, Captain Joe
Lyons knows what’s going on all season up and down the coast.
First Mate Nick Lyons
Like his father, first mate Nick has been fishing since before
he could walk. As he has grown up so has the charter business.
In the beginning, bay fishing or short runs taught nick how
to handle a rod and reel. Later, as the trips became longer
and the catches bigger, he learned how to help novice sport
fishermen and fisherwomen land the bigger catches. While his
Dad pilots the boat, Nick will help you get set up, explain
where you’re going and give you sense of what’s
running, how to handle the rod and when to drop the lines.
